Name: Matches
Age: Approximately nineteen (Her history dictates that her age falls in line with Twilight Sparkle's, though her age was never released. Sorry, this is the best I could do here.)
Sex: Female
Gender: Female
Species: Pony
Subspecies: Unicorn
Physical Appearance: Matches' coat is a shade of blue similar to bleu de France, though it may be a shade darker. Her mane and tail are typically somewhat messy, also following in the blue color scheme. Both her mane and tail consist of a darker blue as well as stripes of sky blue running through them, though her mane has a streak of cyan going through the bangs. She isn't particularly muscular, nor is she overly small, though she is shorter than most mares her age. Her eyes could be described as a deep, sapphire blue, which also governs her aura's color. Upon her flank there is an emblem of a small flame, much like one would find at the center of a candle, surrounded by sparkles typical of a magic-oriented pony.
Personality: Matches tends to have a somewhat faceted personality, with different traits being more prominent in certain situations. For example, if she were interacting with a close friend she will be incredibly energetic, prone to taking playful jabs at them and will most likely forget that most ponies enjoy personal space. If she were in the middle of a task, however, she might seem obsessive, isolated, and her intelligence will most likely make itself evident. She also may latch on to, or perhaps already have latched onto, a mare romantically if conditions are right. This results in more of her obsessive, isolationist behavior, as well as a near cult-like willingness to please. She will most likely actively avoid this pony for quite some time, however, unless forced into a situation where avoiding them is not possible.
Special Talent: Magic, pyromancy even more so.
Family: Only child, contact with her parents has been completely severed.
Goals, ambitions, aspirations: Above all, pleasing/being worthy of notice by Twilight Sparkle (or whatever other character she has latched onto emotionally) is her goal. A secondary goal would be for her to become one of the greatest magic users of all time.
Strengths: Her intelligence, affinity with magic and incredible drive are her major strengths.
Obvious Weaknesses: She is terrible at anything even mildly athletic. She also has a "minor" drinking problem.
History: Matches was born in Canterlot. Her mother wasn't particularly well of, nor was she excessively poor. It was a rather average home, honestly. The thing hat was most noteworthy was her being a single mother, which isn't even that uncommon. Life went on rather uneventfully, aside from Matches earning her cutie mark, until the filly was old enough to begin schooling. Her mother had been looking into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, thanks to Matches' talent. Things did not go quite according to plan, however. One day her mother suggested that she take Matches, who was named Pyrodessa at the time, to a river to play with friends. Upon arriving, Matches' mother had attempted to drown her. She survived the attack, washing up downstream and earning a fear of water. It was here that she encountered an entity that would be with her all her life. A short discussion later and Matches had given this entity her own name, taking up her new title proudly. She walked for some time, eventually happening upon an old manor. It was condemned, windows and doors were boarded up, the fencing around the place was rusted and warped and the inside was barely habitable. She crawled inside through a hole in the wall. The next day she went to CSGU and took her entrance exam, telling instructors that her mother was just using the restroom and elected to fill out the papers herself. This was acceptable, somehow. Equestrian school systems were rather lenient when it came to enrolling, as evidenced by nearly every Equestria Girls film. But I digress. Matches passed her exam, but stuck around at the urging of Pyrodessa. "To see what she was up against," the mare had told her. She found a spot to hide and watch the students. It was here that she saw Twilight Sparkle for the first time. Something in the filly's mind clicked, and thus an obsession that would last all her life was born. We fast forward from here a few years. Pyrodessa has shown she is capable of minor possession, similar to Nightmare Moon, and has used it to forge documents of a well-off stallion. There was also a murder committed. Matches was now more or less set for life, though she hated the method through which her bits were gained. She fixed up the manor, somewhat, with these bits. It was here that she lived until she finished her schooling. Upon school finishing out, she heard rumors that Twilight would be moving to Ponyville. Just like any rational pony would, Matches dropped absolutely every aspect of life in Canterlot to follow this mare to Ponyville. From here she simply lived, ensuring she didn't come off as afluent as she truly was, watching the mane 6's adventures from a distance. All in all, she'd spent most of her life with her nose buried in a book or pressed against the glass of a window, never even so much letting herself be seen by the mare she adored. This is where role plays shall begin.
