As the title says.
Being new to the community, I thought I'd probe around and ask what people are interested in, in terms of roleplay.
If you might have a preference for certain genres, universes or other content, and even the size/frequency of posts or if you prefer instant message platforms to forums roleplay.
For example, I have a generalized favoritism towards genres like adventure/dark-adventure, exploration and SoL, especially anything that involves world-building on the part of the players/thread host. Cheeky and otherwise implied humor can be expected from me when I see fitting opportunity, and undertones of romance aren't out of the question either.
Sci-fi with ponies I might avoid, unless characters are also thrust into a situation where high-grade technology/magi-tech isn't very available. Guns and other mordern real-life technological adaptations into pony roleplay worlds are often mild deterrents for me, being more interested in seeing how players can use their creative sides and come up with something outside the norm, rather than taking from mainstream real-life in its current age. They are magic ponies after all, I doubt they'd develop on the exact same lines as a society.
Though, too much magic as a means of problem-solving IC can be tricky too...
I'm comfortable playing on just about any playform - games, Skype, forums... For the latter, I usually prefer slow-going larger posts, so it feels like waiting for a nice big text-treat as opposed to one-liners I could have through messaging. I find them easier to wedge between work schedules for all involved too, though sit-down back-and-forth sessions can be fun!
So, how about everyone else's ideas of good RP styles? It might help give me an idea of what to try and bring to the table for future threads.
